Junior Dance Program
A four year progressive syllabi designed for the developing mind and body of the young student, male and female. This program offers a full range of dance skills and related movements while utilizing a child’s natural desire to move and dance to music.
We use imagery and a creative approach to develop: large and small motor skills, strength, coordination of mind and body, concentration, balance, self discipline, memorization, music awareness, poise and carriage. These skills, plus the emphasis on teamwork, self-assurance and personal progress benefit all students.
Classical Ballet Program
The beauty of ballet is composed of many arts within a single form. Classical technique, quality of the movements with music, style, expression and line create ballet.
We teach primarily using the well-established Cecchetti Method for training dancers and incorporate other methods and styles at the higher levels. The Cecchetti method provides a completely balanced and analyzed system of technique theory, vocabulary, and execution, holding the highest regard to the laws of anatomy. Levels are graded to ensure the progress of each student.
It is recommend that students in the Classical Program take at least two classes weekly to provide the optimum progression.
Jazz Program
Jazz is a form and expression of dance best suited to students at least 10 years of age. This fun program will allow students to explore a mix of hip-hop and jazz dance styles. Classes are conducted using contemporary music hits and were developed to enhance and broaden students’ dance horizons. It is recommended that ballet lessons be taken in conjunction to provide optimum progress.
Tap Program
Young tap students will learn to use tap shoes to create different sounds and rhythms to accentuate their dance movements. (For students Ages 5 & Up)
Ballroom Dance
For adults, this program introduces to the Argentine style Tango which is a highly stylized form of the popular Latin dance that is heating up the ballroom dance floors around the
country.
