About Sylvia Studio

For over seventy years we have been dedicated to the highest standards of dance. We provide professional dance instruction and progressive training programs in Ballet and Jazz. Our careful and consistent training develop a solid base of technique and skills to last a lifetime. In 2008, we were awarded the 2008 Best of Ann Arbor Award for Dance instruction.

Our Junior Dance and Classical Ballet programs incorporate classroom demonstrators and piano accompaniment. Class size is limited to provide the optimal dance experience between students and instructors.

Our director, Lee Ann King, has been selected by United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for inclusion in the International Who’s Who in Dance

Ann Arbor Civic Ballet

AACB is a non-profit company open to all area dancers through audition.

Founded in 1951 as the first chartered company in Michigan, the AACB provides a showcase for area artists and a stepping stone for future professionals. AACB performs twice annually and has many original and classic ballets in its repertoire from Swan Lake to The Haunted Castle. The AACB awards scholarships to qualified members to attend national and international summer schools.

Sylvia Studio of Dance is closely associated with the CCA, a non-profit organization that offers teachers and students a comprehensive syllabi, examination and accreditation process.

Sylvia Studio of Dance offers serious students and teachers the opportunity to participate in examination upon recommendation of the Director.
